Needed: a bunch of asparagus, olive oil, fresh garlic, a lemon, salt & pepper, & parmesan cheese.
Prepare a sheet pan with edges - cover with parchment or foil, then top with a cookie rack.
Rinse asparagus and remove any bad pieces.
Snap the ends off, bending and letting them break where natural - do not just chop off the bottoms.
Spread the asparagus on the cookie rack then drizzle with olive oil.
Top with salt, pepper, and garlic.
Sprinkle all over, making sure the seasoning gets into the tops as well.
Lay sliced lemon over the asparagus.
Bake for 10 minutes. Add parmesan if using for last 1 - 2 minutes.
Serve immediately and enjoy!
