Collard Greens Recipe

southern-bytes.com

Pick collard greens after a frost for the best flavor.

Remove the leaves from the stems.

Wash dirt and debris off of the greens.

Collard Greens are made from simple ingredients, but they taste so good!

Heat a large pot over medium heat, then add olive oil 🥘

Once hot, add bacon & cook it until it is mostly cooked 🥓

Add onions & cook until they are translucent 🧅

Then add garlic and cook for 1 - 2 minutes 🧄

Add fresh or frozen greens & cook just enough to wilt them 🥬

Next, add chicken stock to cover the greens and deglaze the pot 🐓

Add salt, pepper, Tony’s, red pepper flakes, brown sugar, and apple cider vinegar 🧂

Stir the greens well, make sure the seasoning is evenly mixed in 👩‍🍳

Now, cover & let the greens cook down, stirring occasionally ⏲

Remove the lid & let them cool! 🥬

Refrigerate leftovers in an airtight container.

Can I save some for later?
