Combine all ingredients in a small bowl and mix well to combine. (Or add the spices directly to a jar and shake well to combine.)
4 teaspoons ground cinnamon, 2 teaspoons ground ginger, 1 teaspoon ground cloves, ½ teaspoon nutmeg, ⅛ teaspoon lemon peel
Store in an airtight container (such as a small mason jar) for 2 - 3 years.
How to Store It
To maximize the shelf life of homemade spices, store them in their airtight container in a cool, dark cabinet. Try to keep them away from direct heat or sunlight (do not store them in the cabinet above your stove or on a windowsill.)
How to Use It
This fall spice is a great addition to so many fall recipes. You can substitute it in pretty much any recipe that calls for cinnamon or nutmeg to change it up a little!
I like to use it for Pumpkin Butter, Pumpkin Spice Lattes, in place of cinnamon on glazed carrots, on candied pecans, or on roasted sweet potatoes. (And of course, in Pumpkin Pie!)
Pumpkin Pie Spice is also delicious for breakfast - mixed into homemade yogurt topped with granola, mixed into oatmeal, or in homemade granola bars.
