Instructions

  • Combine all of the ingredients in a small bowl or jar and mix to combine.
1 tablespoon basil, 1 tablespoon parsley, 1 tablespoon oregano, 2 teaspoons rosemary, 2 teaspoons thyme, 1 teaspoon marjoram, ½ teaspoon garlic powder, ½ teaspoon sage, ½ teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
  • Store in a sealed container in your spice cabinet or in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and heat.

Notes

This seasoning recipe makes ¼ cup of Italian seasoning.
I use this seasoning so much that I like to make a double batch and store it in a pint-sized mason jar. It will keep for 6 months or more.

How to Use Italian Seasoning Mix

My favorite ways to use Italian seasoning are, of course, to make homemade red sauce or other pasta sauces - but I also love to make dipping oil for bread.
I also love to add my own Italian seasoning to garlic bread, garlic toast, pasta e fagioli, and on sautéed squash or roasted squash. It is an excellent addition to marinades, dressings, and soups. (There are more suggestions for the many uses in the post above!)
