Every good meal starts with a great flavor base. This homemade paleo “chicken” bouillon is full of great flavor and has no funny additives, leaving it friendly for almost every diet – Whole30, Paleo, Keto, and Vegan.

I have been making this recipe for years since I first made Paleo Ramen Zoodles in a Jar. The original version was great, but I added a few extra things and jazzed it up to take it over the top. It is perfect for adding a boost of flavor to soups, stews, and gravies and is the perfect flavoring for paleo pressure canned chicken.

🥘 Ingredients Needed

The ingredients in paleo chicken bouillon, labeled.
  • Nutritional Yeast – Nutritional yeast gives this bouillon that underlying almost cheesy kind of flavor that is crucial to the “bouillon” aspect of the recipe!
  • Kosher Salt – I use kosher salt for nearly everything, but you can also use sea salt. I would not recommend using table salt because the salt crystals are smaller and will get lost in the mixture.
  • Ground Turmeric
  • Dried Thyme
  • Dried Rubbed Sage – The sage is a very small amount, but it adds a really nice flavor!

  1. I just made this, and I LOVE it. I have been living on Knorr and Maggi chicken bullion, or bone broth with a bullion cube added. It’s filling and delicious, but a little dextrose and soy makes it incompatible with Whole 30.
I used almost double the salt, added cayenne, and Tony Chachere’s creole seasoning to make it spicy, and it’s lovely! I may never go back to the old cubes.
