Easy Sweet Cornbread Recipe
Ingredients - Butter, Cornmeal, Flour, Baking Soda, Salt, Buttermilk, Eggs, & Sugar
Melt butter, then let it cool.
Preheat oven to 350°F & place your dish or skillet in the oven to heat up.
Combine all of your dry ingredients in a large bowl.
Whisk the dry ingredients to mix well.
Whisk the eggs into the buttermilk with a fork.
Add buttermilk mixture to dry ingredients, then mix in melted butter.
Fold together gently, until the wet & dry ingredients are just combined.
Once mixed, carefully remove your hot pan from the oven & coat it with butter.
Pour batter into the hot pan.
It's okay if it makes sizzling sounds - that's what makes crispy edges.
Bake at 375°F for 30 - 35 minutes.
Look at that rise!
Remove from oven when the edges brown & the top is springy.
I normally make this in a skillet, but for cornbread dressing, I use a pan.
