How to Make Candied Pecans

Pecans, bourbon, egg white, vanilla extract, brown sugar, salt & cayenne.

Preheat oven to 350°F.

Whisk together egg white, vanilla extract, & bourbon.

Combine brown sugar, salt, & cayenne.

Stir pecans into egg mixture until fully coated.

Stir in sugar mixture.

Stir, stir, stir!

Spread pecans onto a lined baking sheet (so they don't stick.)

Drop the oven temperature to 250°F.

Bake pecans for 10 minutes.

Remove pecans and stir.

Put pecans back in the oven for 10 minutes.

Remove pecans and stir.

Back in the oven for 10 minutes!

This process should happen 3 times for a total of 30 minutes in the oven.

If you use juice in place of bourbon, you may need one more round of 10 minutes in the oven as the alcohol burns off faster than juice.

Move to a rack to cool - they look perfect!

Remove from the tray - they look perfect!

Serve right away or move to an air-tight container to store.
