How to Cook Dried Chickpeas in an Instant Pot

Simple ingredients: dried chickpeas, bay leaves, water, garlic, & an onion. You can also add olive oil.

Add dried chickpeas to an Instant Pot.

Then add water & kosher salt.

Now add halved onion & a few garlic cloves. 

Finally, add bay leaves.

Close lid & turn vent to sealing position.

Set to Manual Mode at High Pressure for 45 minutes.

Let pressure release naturally for 20 minutes.

Carefully release any remaining pressure.

Open the lid - there will be extra liquid, that's okay.

Strain chickpeas, then remove garlic, bay leaves, & onion.

Use in recipes that call for canned chickpeas. These make amazing hummus!
