Southern Fried Squash Recipe


Slice squash & zucchini into 1/4 inch rounds.

Combine flour, cornmeal, & spices.

In a separate bowl, whisk together egg & buttermilk.

Dunk squash in buttermilk, then coat in breading.

Heat oil to 350°F in a deep fryer or in a deep skillet.

Allow squash to sit while the oil heats, this will help the breading stick.

Fry the squash rounds in small batches until golden brown.

Shake basket to prevent squash from sticking together.

Drain squash on a paper towel.

Repeat until all squash is fried.

Looks great!

Serve & enjoy!

Keep squash dry with an umbrella if it rains!

Dip in ranch or your favorite dipping sauce!
